About

Paula Sigala was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, California, and has a deep understanding of the regional building requirements, environmental considerations, and local design culture across the Reno/Tahoe area. With a strong network of professionals in both architecture and construction, she brings valuable insight and collaboration to every project.

Paula has worked with a range of architectural designers and builders along the West Coast—from San Diego to Seattle—gaining diverse experience across climates, styles, and construction methods. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from NewSchool of Architecture + Design, where she cultivated a rigorous design mindset and technical expertise.

Driven by challenge and detail, Paula approaches each project with a tailored design sensibility that responds to the site, context, and regional characteristics. Her work reflects a thoughtful balance between creative innovation and practical application.

the Process

Paula’s background in architecture has shaped a multidisciplinary design approach rooted in form, function, and material exploration. She believes that every project has a unique edge—discovering that edge helps define how far a concept can be pushed while maintaining integrity. Patterns—whether structured or spontaneous, physical or emotional—are foundational to my work. By examining archetypes and embracing their resonance, she can aim to create designs that are not only intentional but also inherently beautiful.

The Studio

Each project in the studio is rooted in custom design—whether it begins as a drawing, an object, or a material exploration. Paula works across a range of methodologies and materials, using experimentation as a tool to elevate the aesthetic and craft of every piece. Her experience in diverse design environments has broadened her perspective and deepened her understanding across multiple disciplines, from architecture to fabrication. Every design is created with purpose, and every detail is considered.
